SMOKING POLICY

AIMS-GLOBAL HOLDINGS SDN BHD (AGHSB) is committed to providing our customers with the highest level of service possible and aspires to become an organization against which others strive to benchmark.

Our Smoking Policy are mandatory at all levels of AGHSB and are adopted throughout our operations and activities.

AGHSB is committed to conducting its business in a manner that protects the health and safety of its employees and contractors through the following principles:

No Smoking Areas – Any area that is not specifically designated and identified as a smoking area is classed as a no smoking area; and

Smoking Areas – Smoking is only permitted in specifically designated and identified areas.

Personnel working offshore should also note that AGHSB vessels on contract to clients, or located in client controlled areas are subject to the smoking rules and restrictions defined by the client. Personnel working offshore shall familiarize themselves with, and observe the rules and restrictions defined by the client at all times.

STOP WORK POLICY

AIMS-GLOBAL HOLDINGS SDN BHD (AGHSB) believes that no work to be performed by us in the execution of our daily business operation is so urgent that we cannot take time to do it safely. 

In the aspiration of the prevention of injury to our people and damages to our property as well as the environment, the following Stop Work Policy shallprevail within the AGHSB under the following circumstances:

  • When work activities are imposing an Immediate Danger To Life and Health (IDLH) to our personnel during adverse weather conditions or during hazardous or critical work operations;
  • When action by an individual or a team is in non-compliance with the set standards and procedures for performing the job tasks; and
  • When works to be performed is not in accordance with the agreed Job Method Statement and the approved Job Hazards/Safety Analysis (JHA/JSA) thus imposing unnecessary risks to the tasks performer.

Departmental, Line, Base Managers, Vessels Masters and Line Supervisors are accountable and responsible in ensuring that the Stop Work Policy is exercised accordingly under the above circumstances to ensure the ultimate goal of An Injury Free Work Place can be achieved across AGHSB work locations.

All employees and contractors, both ship-based and shore-based are required to adhere to this policy.

HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT POLICY

AIMS-GLOBAL HOLDINGS SDN BHD (AGHSB) believes that sincere and continual commitment towards excellence on Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) is vital in ensuring safety at sea and ashore, prevention of human injury or loss of life, and avoidance of damage to the environment, in particular to the marine environment and property.

AGHSB HSE Management System (HSE-MS) objectives are:

  • To provide for safe practices in ship and shore-based operation and a safe working environment;
  • To assess all identified risks to its ships and shore-based office, personnel and the environment and establish appropriate safeguards; and
  • To continuously improve safety management skills of personnel ashore and aboard ships, including preparing for emergencies related both to safety and environmental protection.
  • Communicate regularly with employees to ensure HSE information are shared and issues are properly addressed;
  • Provide competent personnel and adequate resources in improving the integrity of HSE-MS;
  • Contractors managed by AGHSB shall comply with AGHSB HSE Standards as a minimum;
  • Conduct Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC), and/or Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for all activities to ensure employees and customers are safeguarded from identified risks;
  • Review the HSE performance for frequent update to ensure continual improvement in areas where there are weaknesses within the management system; and
  • Comply with mandatory rules and regulations in the countries where AGHSB operates and endorsing applicable codes, guidelines and standards recommended by the Organization, Administrations, classification societies and maritime industry organizations.

DRUG AND ALCOHOL POLICY

AIMS-GLOBAL HOLDINGS SDN BHD (AGHSB) strictly restrict the consumption or being under influence of unprescribed drugs and alcohol which would impair the performance of work and a serious threat to the Health, Safety and Environment at our business operations. 

AGHSB wishes to ensure that each employee is personally responsible not only to themselves but also to others and the Company in eliminating the usage of drug and alcohol across our whole business location. To ensure full compliance to our policy, the following measures are being implemented:

  • Prior to employment, prospective employees are to undergo pre-employment medical screening on drugs and alcohol;
  • Continuously promote working environment with zero tolerance on abuse of drugs and alcohol;
  • Total prohibition of possession, consumption, distribution or sales of drugs or alcohol at every AGHSB work location;
  • Random test on drugs and alcohol in situation where suspected drugs or alcohol abuse has occurred;
  • Conducting comprehensive investigation after occurrence of an incident or accident, whereby the possibility of drugs or alcohol might have a contributing factor; and
  • Employees found to be in possession or under the influence of drugs or alcohol are subjected to disciplinary action that includes immediate termination of employment with the Company.

All employees and contractors, both ship-based and shore-based are required to adhere to this policy.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT POLICY

AIMS-GLOBAL HOLDINGS SDN BHD (AGHSB) is committed to providing our customers with the highest level of service possible and aspires to become an organization against which others strive to benchmark.

Our Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Policy is mandatory at all levels of AGHSB and is adopted throughout our operations and activities. All employees have the responsibility to perform their duties in a manner which ensures their own safety and that of others and to co-operate with any safety requirement in the workplace.

The use of PPE is essential for health and safety. When considering infection control, a risk assessment may be required in order to decide which PPE is most appropriate for the task/ situation, depending on what the wearer might be exposed to.

The AGESB Personal Protective Equipment Policies includes;

  • To ensure appropriate PPE is identified to minimize hazards not able to be controlled by elimination or isolation
  • To ensure fit for purpose PPE is provided;
  • To ensure adequate training in the use of PPE is provided;
  • To monitor the use and Maintenance of PPE.       ;

All employees and contractors, both ship-based and shore-based are required to adhere to this policy.
